This Is Xseed’s First WiiWare Game

This Is Xseeds First WiiWare Game Xseed is getting into WiiWare development with a title we haven’t heard about before. Get ready to meet Drill Sergeant Mindstrong! The ESRB rated the game with an E 10+ and gave the following description.

This is a collection of mini-games (i.e., party games) in which players train and compete in math, rhythm, and reflex/timing drills guided by a trainer named Sergeant Mindstrong. Mini-games include shooting numbered targets according to the sergeant’s instructions; performing timed salutes and “at ease” cues; and marching in time while holding realistic-looking rifles. Each mini-game contains the word hell in the title (e.g., “Hell Roll Call” and “Hell Calculation”), and the drill sergeant sometimes provokes the players by using insulting nicknames (e.g., “Meathead, “Arm Pit,” “Sugar Buns,” “Sissy,” etc.).

A collection of mini-games lead by a drill sergeant…. hmm… Could Drill Sergeant Mindstrong really be a localized version of Discipline: Creation of the Tuning Empire? Marvelous announced the WiiWare title late last year and Xseed does have a co-publishing agreement with Marvelous. We’ll see if we can get anymore details from Xseed about Drill Sergeant Mindstrong since it’s on deck for release.

Sounds like a match Spencer. Was Discipline's developer ever announced?

I don't think so. Actually, outside of TGS I don't remember Marvelous mentioning it at all.

I don't knowm the game sounds more like some sort of war-based minigames, and Discipline is supposed to be… well… a sick, twisted concept that you'd think was concocted by a team of people on acid.

Have you seen that alien dildo-like thing that's the primary object in the game?

This new game sounds too tame (so to say) to be Discipline, it must be another game we don't clearly know about, and I'll do my best to get the word from the horse's mouth about this.

Oh, and Discipline is developed by Unigame Bunko, translated as Sea Turtle Library.

    “I don't know, the game sounds…”

Fixed, that m was supposed to be a comma. :P

Here's the thread at NeoGAF about Discipline:

Stormbringer said that its genre is “Real Time Simulation Game”.

I don't think this is Discipline. It sounds more like a military-themed Brain Age type game from the description.

Agreed, this can't be Discipline. The comments I remember around the time of its unveiling at TGS don't match up, imo.
