Katamari Damacy Tribute Is Cel-Shaded For Your Enjoyment

By Spencer . March 26, 2009 . 9:08am

image Famitsu reported the PS3 Katamari game, Katamari Damacy Tribute, has a new visual presentation. This could have been a reference to the full HD 1080p resolution, but it isn’t. Katamari Damacy Tribute will have cel-shaded graphics instead of blocky polygons.

Katamari Damacy Tribute also has PlayStation Network support, but it is unclear what Namco Bandai plans to do with it. It could be for online play and/or distribution of downloadable content.

    I am so happy… ;__;

  • Akimitsu

    Looks pretty awesome and the remixes of the songs sound equally as awesome.

  • Pichi

    So we can choose between cel-shaded and 3D? That would be nice if you can. Cel-shaded looks very nice.

  • Jellybit

    Yes you can choose. They have regular, “comic book” and “wood style”. There may be a fourth, I can’t remember. And I have no idea what wood style is.

    • Pichi

      Excellent, thanks for the info.

    • lol wood style.

      I have a feeling that’s everything made out of cardboard or something? I hope the next game news is about that one.

  • Aoshi00

    That’s a very cool look, hopefuly the game would be more complete than the 360 version instead of DLC for every song or something.. actually I found it hard to roll w/ the 360 controller because of the analog stick’s position.. That’s pretty good theme song w/ lyrics, the “na na na” music drives me nuts though.

  • Those are awesome music remixes.

    And the cel-shading is quite nice and fits in well for the series.
