PS2 Gets A Price Drop To $99.99 Starting on April 1st (that’s tomorrow) Sony is shaving $30 off the price of the PlayStation 2 bringing the price down to $99.99. Previously the console sold for a MSRP of $129.99.

You probably know this (and own a PS2), but in case you haven’t heard the PlayStation 2 has a truckload of great games. Sony Computer Entertainment America pledges continued PS2 support with first party software such as MLB 09: The Show, MotorStorm: Arctic Edge, and PSP ports like Secret Agent Clank.

Don’t expect the same level of commitment from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan. The last PlayStation 2 game SCEJ developed was Bleach Blade Battlers 2nd in 2007 and have not dabbled in PSP to PS2 ports.

I noticed you trackbacking to GameStooge – you should mention the UK will *not* be seeing a price drop of the PS2.
