Triggerheart Exelica Enhanced’s New Opening Movie

By Spencer . April 2, 2009 . 6:20am

Last week Alchemist’s PS2 port of Triggerheart Exelica came out in Japan. An animated opening by P.A. Works who previously worked on True Tears was one of the new features. There aren’t any signs of the PS2 version coming out overseas, but you can still see the opening video thanks to a YouTube uploader.

Imagine, for a second, you knew nothing about Triggerheart Exelica. What kind of game would you think it is based on the opening alone?

    I dunno, with all that acrobatic in-your-face action that’s so intense that one ground cannon gets blown up TWICE, if this were my first exposure to anything Exelica related, I’d likely be led to believe it was one of those aerial combat dealies, maybe something Star Fox 64-ish.

    In any case, thanks for the heads up! I’m off to Play-Asia!

    Nice. I like the song. Still too much for my tastes since I already own the game on my 360.

    Based on the video, I’d expect some sort of side-scrolling shoot-em-up game.

    If I didn’t even know it was a game, I would say some yuri-mech anime @_@;

    I don’t particularly like Mizuki Nana (Hinata from Naruto or Moka from Rosario & Vampire) as an voice actress, but she sure can sing some good songs for anime/games (Shining Wind).

    Too bad I’m not a big shmup fan, I like the robot maiden design and the SD figure from the LE set. Don’t like Otomedius’s too much.. Man, this song is good and so is the opening animation. But so much pricier than the 360 d/l.
