NIS America’s Secret PSP Title Is Awesomely Bad

By Spencer . April 7, 2009 . 6:23pm

image Defying all odds NIS America picked up Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida which will be renamed Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman: What did I do to deserve this? when it comes out in North America this July. A great name for a fantastic quirky game. In the game players make a dungeon and manage an ecosystem of monsters to kill invading heroes. Not sold on the idea of defending the comical God of Destruction? NIS America will put a demo on the PlayStation Store.

Judging from the first batch of screenshots NIS America’s localization has a mix of Japanese humor (one of the heroes is called Shota) and Western jokes. It appears NIS America picked up the first game instead of the sequel which came out in Japan this past September.

Wait, a second… how did NIS America get the rights to publish Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman? Few third party developers release games originally published by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan. I sense an interesting story here…

I would rather have the sequel (more like 1.5) than the first one BUT I will buy this. On the other hand if the game does well, then chances are we will get to own both at some point in time. July 2009 is awfully far though.

The text in these screenshots is well above what you’d expect from a NISA job. Font looks great, too! Maybe they’re taking our complaints seriously, or they’re under a tight leash from Sony themselves. Either way we win… just hope they won’t introduce any game-breaking bug once again.

Any idea on the price point? IIRC it was a budget title in Japan. Something like 19.99$ would be nice! They did it with Patapon so…

I think they’re under a tight leash from NIS in Japan. I dunno how much of it is truth, but I hear they got severely chastised for the issues with AT2 and Rhapsody.

On the PSP, actually it’s pretty common for 3rd parties to publish SCEI games (since SCEA doesn’t seem interested in picking many up).

Atlus picked up Jewel Summoner, Xseed picked up Brave Story and Wild Arms XF, Agetec picked up Popolocrois. And even NIS has done it before – Blade Dancer was originally a SCEI game.

Dang. I was so hoping for Project Diva. But hey I bet it’ll be import friendly. :D

**** me why did it have to be the first game… The second game is the exact same thing but with minor improvements.

Whoa, what a surprise! I can’t believe this is coming to the states! I’m excited! If you can’t tell by all my exclamation marks haha.

Well I think your title could give a wrong impression Spencer! Or maybe am just too worried on a little title like this getting more ignored than expected as I want to support NIS more so they can bring more.

  • MadMirko

    Horrible title.

A downloadable version would be welcome, too, or are there plans to release this in Europe? :/

Wrong! The title is giving this game a lot of exposure right now.

      • Pichi

Agreed, I don’t think it’ll be getting this much attention without it.

And I do think if kind of fits with the game.

    • ReturnOfSomeDude

      I agree, horrible title.

This entire game seems like what happens when you give one guy too much free reign. None of the text I’m seeing in those screens strikes me as funny. In fact, I’m just sitting here shaking my head at how bad some of it is.

I have the jap version , Does this mean I need to buy it again? Its a cool game. I also would download this game. Like in Japan PSP store.
