Is This The Name Of Square Enix’s Action Game?

By Spencer . April 15, 2009 . 7:50am

imageOh goody! More Square Enix trademarks are popping up. Yesterday, we discovered Front Mission Evolved. Today we have Vanguard Storm.

The ambiguous trademark was registered on the US patent and trademark database and surfaced earlier today. Since this isn’t obviously connected to any previous Square Enix franchise it could be for a new game. Maybe this is for that action game Square Enix is working on. The timing fits since it’s about to be revealed in PlayStation: The Official Magazine in a few weeks.

    I thought that action game is Nomura’s One Goal Spirit.
    OGS was announced a long time ago in a Famitsu iirc and they said it was a PS3 exclusive action game. Since the game you’re refering to will be revealed in PS magazine it kind of fits.

    You know… Vanguard Storm sounds awfully close to Vagrant Story…

      That was my first instinct as well, but I’m not sure I’d want to see a Matsuno-less sequel…. Although Ogre Battle 64 and the GBA Tactics Ogre were pretty good….

    It sound a lot better than front mission imo.

    @Shuyin

    They never said One Goal Spirit was going to be for PS3, they just mentioned it with no platforms whatsoever.

      this was a translation goof. Nomura was just talking about how he wanted to keep Versus 13 only on PS3 because he wanted to concentrate everyone’s spirit/energy towards a single goal (i.e. a single version of the game), rather than dilute it into multiple versions for multiple platforms. That’s all “one goal spirit” meant, it wasn’t a game title.
