So tempting to try.. but last time someone got me a code for Doom during an Amazon sale, the code didn't work. Something about not being the right region, which has been vexing me for a while now.

I was gifted a US 360 by my brother, have a US gamertag/account, but live in the UK and couldn't get the code working. I tried to contact Xbox about it, but their email told me they couldn't help me unless I called in, which I haven't had time to do (not to mention I hate calling customer service for anything because of the whole waiting game they like to play).

Any ideas? Because if I can get some codes to finally work on my 360, I'm game to give this a go.

Cool! I don't apply to this offer, yet, but I'll look out for the next one!

  • RavenSchwann

    Is this anywhere?
North America? Or just USA? I'm in Canada. I'll give it a try when I get a more then a minute to spare.

  • asd

Wow, what shit. Seriously? Really? A scheme?

  • JeremyR

Are there even 100 people who haven't tried Netflix?

  • zen209

im in it how long will it last

  • EdgeKun

    Hrm. Don't know if want. . . .
Mostly because I really don't like signing up for stuff, especially stuff that could possibly end up getting me charged. =( (Though if there's not even a need to enter a credit card number, I may very well go for it)

This is the first time I've seen an article from “Mike .”. I probably only noticed this because he doesn't seem to contribute to the main body of “Siliconera Speaks Up” articles.

  • mikeseo

only Us now looking to expand in europe later.

  • mikeseo

    just us now

  • mikeseo

a few months as a beta. if it works and everyone loves it more offers will come.

  • mikeseo

so you know straight up signing up for net flix requires a credit card. we're working on making offers where you don't need one.

  • http://www.yetikitn.com MelodyKitn

See, but there's the rub.. even if you do a EU version, my 360 is a US one. Not even sure the codes you'd give based on an EU region contest would work on it. Gah, I had region restrictions!

  • fallen

well if he managed to hack an expansive addition to siliconera as a way to phish peoples' information, congratulations mike, you've earned them! ;)

  • Grausherra

Signed up, completed the offer, asked for The Maw … received a Soul Calibur code. :|

  • RaptorFB

Is it possible to get Triggerheart Exelica?

  • http://www.siliconera.com Spencer

That's because Mike isn't a writer. He just handles the SE offers program, which *fingers crossed* should bring in more readers.

the codes are region-restricted. if you are in the UK, then you need a code for the UK marketplace. this goes for point cards as well. i imagine if you were to win a contest, and receive a code for the US, it would work on your account since it's tied to the U.S. marketplace. although, they may have done some extra locking down of these things since last i checked. it was a while ago.

I can't say for sure, but “probably not” is my response. They can only get out XBLA games from Amazon and I just did a fast check and didn't see it there :( send an e-mail to him to see what can be done.

  • http://www.yetikitn.com MelodyKitn

Yeah, that's where it gets confusing, since I am pretty certain the marketplace I'm currently getting is the US one, so it makes using a UK code rather odd.. but then again, I don't exactly want to waste money on a UK code only to find it may not work either.

    Predicament, isn't it?
