A Bit About Combat In Magna Carta 2

Softmax wisely scrapped the Trinity Rings from Magna Carta: Tears of Blood. Famitsu reports the combat system in Magna Carta 2 is new and makes use of the environment through field attributes.

After a real-time field to combat switch players control a leader character while the computer takes care of the other party members. Leaders can be changed at anytime and there is a benefit to a swap. Team attacks from the chain system can be used after a leader change. Linked attacks between hero Juto and heroine Zephie may not grab your attention, but Magna Carta 2 has some cool looking encounters like this fight against a monstrous worm.

Is the combat like .hack and PSU now?

I think it's too early to tell. Since you're switching into fields I guess that sounds like .hack://G.U., but that part is probably more like FFXIII.

Like many others, the first game disappointed me. Mainly because I wanted to like it so much.

The art was amazing, and the story seemed pretty good too. I just couldn't get past all the convoluted mechanics. Aside from the battle system, and chi. I remember not even being able to fight more monsters to level up, or earn money to equip my characters.

This game has so much potential. It looks like they revamped quite a few things. Lets just hope they've learned from their mistakes, and release a quality game.
