Bethesda Softworks Rescues Wet

By Spencer . April 23, 2009 . 10:16pm

image The last casualty of the Activision Blizzard merger is Wet. A2M’s stylish shooting game was announced last year, then went dark after Activision Blizzard dropped many Sierra properties.

However, Wet is far from dead. A new trailer spontaneously surfaced with little fanfare a few weeks ago. A2M is still working on the game, but who is publishing it? Sharp commenter NickyD (thanks!!) pointed me in the direction of Famitsu. That’s right, we’re getting news about a Western developed game from a Japanese magazine. *Looks outside, checks for a blue moon.*

Famitsu spills the beans by highlighting Elder Scrolls developer Bethesda Softworks. Good for them. Wet looked eye catching a year ago, but now it faces competition from Bayonetta. Can two climax action games with female leads coexist?

I dunno about those two gals playing nice, but I do know that as of now, Lara Croft is officially racked.

    …Teehee…torture pun, heehee…

  • Bethesda’s really ramping up lately. Usually they have like one big a title a year and a bunch of shovelware and meh titles otherwise, but so far this year we have the promise of that new Fallout by Obsidian and now this. Now they just need to reveal what’s up with Rogue Warrior and I’ll be happy.

  • =) Great news! I think the two ladies can co-exist… I mean, one’s a “librarian” type and the other’s more of a “scene” girl. They’d never get along, but they’d never get in each other’s business, either! Har, har.
