Turtles in Time Going 3D With Xbox Live Arcade Remake

Touring with the Turtles’ Party Van is an early build of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time for Xbox Live Arcade. The remake sports 3D graphics and reports claim it’s more or less like the 1991 arcade beat ’em up. Cowabunga?

The fresh coat of paint is unexpected considering Konami and Ubisoft, who has the rights to the Turtles franchise, simply put Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game on Xbox Live Arcade with, other than online play, few frills. Actually, I prefer the original arcade look of Turtles in Time. 3D graphics add depth, but drop the “I’m playing the cartoon!” feel Konami developed. Hopefully, the classic is unlockable.

Is it the fact that Sony charges per download for content on PSN or is Konami just screwing the PS3 over with not releasing it on PSN? I would so love to see this come out on WiiWare and PSN, but we’ll have to wait and see if it does.

Yo I remember playin this game on the SNES! The remake looks fire

I remember playing this game too. It was awesome, even if I could never follow long with it. Just went from stage to stage.

I’m finding this to be more exciting than Smash Up, that’s for sure! (To be fair, Smash Bros.-style of games don’t appeal to me.) Aside from the original game being unlockable, I’m also hoping they take advantage of this situation and add some sort of additional or new content.

Speaking of “they,” I wonder who is developing this? That factor could be a cause for concern or relief.

man im real happy about this. i was just looking for a TMNT game to buy from last gen systems (they were pretty good :) too bad the movie based one is pretty meh.

The 3D screenshot looks pretty good. Turtles in Time was one of my favorites on the SNES, played the heck out of it w/ my cousin. At least this is better than Double Dragon w/ the weird looking HD facelift. It would be cool if they include the original game too, but I kind of doubt it..
