Balance Board Controlled Mecha Game Turning Over In North America

Studio Zan released Overturn, a tournament style robot fighting game, on WiiWare in Japan. Thanks to an ESRB rating we’re pretty sure it’s getting a domestic release too. Overturn became notable for its control scheme, you can use the balance board to control a robot by shifting your weight. Don’t worry if that’s not your thing. Overturn has a standard control set where the Wii remote and nunchuck are used to pilot one of the eight robots too.

Learn the controls in single player mode. Then challenge a friend locally in a split screen or over Nintendo Wi-Fi. Right now, Overturn is the closest thing to Virtual On on WiiWare.

  • Haha, you voiced my thoughts exactly. I always thought of Overturn as a simplified Virtual On, but no on else ever made that comparison!

  • I remember saying I’d buy it. Any idea on the publisher?

    • The ESRB says Studio Zan is publishing it. There is a European release in the cards too which could be the same translation is based on.

  • Robot Alchemic Drive had a neat control scheme that worked really well in the game for controlling your mech.
Remote Control Dandy SF looked very similar to it, as well.
