This is currently the #1 game on my radar.
Never played any Luminous Arc, but I don't see how adding anime style witches could possibly be a bad thing.

no, they're obviously cameo appearances in the coliseum.

this is a game made by a team of Team Symphonia outcasts, so far we've seen mystic arte summons complete with overlimit/unison bar, we've seen the battle cut ins, diferent costumes... and now this. they're clearly in the peviously revealed coliseum too.

they're the equivalent of farah, meredy and garr in ToSymphonia basically.

The Witches only manifest when there is a threat to the planet, and what is better suited to a JRPG than the player setting out to defeat a threat to the entire world, accompanied by often scantily-clad witches?

Plus, the Witches are (according the the lore of the Luminous Church in Luminous Arc, at least) enemies of Dragons, and it seems Dragons are the threat against the Meridian Empire that prompted them to hire the mercenaries the protagonist is part of.

This could play out prior to Luminous Arc 1, in the time when the witches were supposedly sealed away by the coming of "God".

Or not. :) It's been a while since I played Luminous Arc 1, and #2 is still on my pile of shame...
