Soul Bubbles Gets A Japanese Makeover

Interchannel is bringing the charming bubble blowing game, Soul Bubbles, to Japan under the name Awatama (Bubble Bullet). But, something looks well… different. In this version the shaman looks like an anime fairy with purple hair.

Remember Ratchet’s eyebrows? The Soul Bubbles transition is another example of how Western games get localized for Japan. The original artwork is on top and the new artwork made for Japan is on the bottom.

This makeover isn’t just limited to concept art. Awatama uses the fairy model instead of the bald baby. Which do you prefer?
