Chibi Robo Gets Point And Click Controls For Wii

Like other games in the New Play Control! lineup Nintendo revamped Chibi-Robo with motion control. In this version you point with the remote and click to make the tiny robot move. Originally, players controlled Chibi Robo with the analog stick on a Gamecube pad.

Nintendo is also tacking motion control on some Chibi-Robo chores. You slide the remote forward and backwards to scrub paw prints with a toothbrush. Another screenshot suggests the shooting scenes have been remade into a mini light gun game.

Wii de Asobu Chibi-Robo is scheduled for release in Japan on June 11. A domestic release has not been announced, but we’re betting that New Play Control! Chibi-Robo will be on Nintendo’s 2009 release list.

Wasn't Chibi-Robo! originally a point and click game before Nintendo grabbed the game? O_o

Didn't you read the article? That's all "tacked on" and the pointer turns shooting scenes into "light-gun mini games". Lollerskates.

But seriously: Yes, you are right.

I did read the article. ;)

I just found it neat that they're sort of reviving aone of the original ideas for the game. :)
