End of Eternity Renamed Resonance of Fate For North America

Oh, so the Resonance of Fate trademark really was for End of Eternity. Sega announced plans to publish the multiplatform Tri-Ace developed RPG here in spring 2010. Why did Sega change the name? My guess is a book from a famous science fiction writer was the issue.

Sega seems to be fast tracking Resonance of Fates localization. The game comes out on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan this winter. We’re going to explore the environmentally ruined world a mere one season later.

well looks like I lost the bet, ugh can't believe Asimov's book flew over my head considering I read it a while back

Sega changing "End of Eternity"'s name to "Resonance of Fate" is reminiscent of Square-Enix's "Subarashiki Kono Sekai -It's a wonderful world-" name change to "The World Ends With You". "End of Eternity" is due to a book, "It's a Wonderful World" is due to a movie.

Except, Sega's way more optimistic than Square when it comes to name changes.

And "The World Ends With You" is a much cooler title than "It's a Wonderful World". Resonance of Fate isn't bad. End of Eternity was cooler but, whatever.

The new title is okay, at least the stylish "of" visual remains.. Very cool gun-slinging screen shots, the snowy scene reminds me of Lost Odyssey's Gohtza. Hope they could manage to make the environment look interesting despite being so barren.
