Rock Out With A Ys I&II Chronicles Clip

JDK Band is rearranging the music for Ys I&II Chronicles. This clip gives us a sample of the songs with a rearranged version of “To Make The End of the Battle” (thanks for the tip Denpa no Sekai!!). Other developers take note: more RPGs should use rock music.

Ys I&II Chronicles comes out in Japan on July 16. If you pre-order the game you get the Ys I&II Best Sound Collection as a gift. Falcom also has digital freebies like custom themes for fans with an insatiable appetite for Ys.

  • It’d be awesome if you could use a custom soundtrack for FFXIII done by the Black Mages. This is a great idea, I like it, this YS game lets you change a lot, not only the art style but the music too, nice!

I love Falcom when they use violins, but switching back and forth between those and guitars really puts me off. My favorite version of “To Make The End of Battle” will always be the original arrangement from the first JDK Band album. I’m also boycotting all incarnations of Ys II until Falcom gets the rights to and uses the new music from the Korean DOS port.

god dammit, I wish we would get this version instead of the lackluster DS port :(
