Bleach DS 4th And Split Screen Platforming

By Spencer . May 18, 2009 . 12:45pm

Bleach DS 4th: Flame Bringer isn’t a fighting game and it isn’t an RPG. Similar to Bleach: Soul Carnival, this game is a brawler/platformer minus the super deformed Soul Reapers. Instead of using one screen for a status menu like so many other Nintendo DS platformers do, Bleach DS 4th: Flame Bringer has action on two screens.

Both screens scroll up when Ichigo jumps, but after passing a cutoff point Ichigo can land on the top screen. The videos below show how the system works when Ichigo is in the heat of battle. Another clip on the official page demonstrates how high the stages can be. Click on “movie” (the fourth option) and the first choice under stage (middle menu) to see it.

It's like the fighting games again. Except without the cheap buttons people who can't combo use.
