Upcoming Naruto Shippuden Game Has Online Play On Wii

By Spencer . May 25, 2009 . 7:36am

narutob Tomy offered a candid look at their Naruto plans for 2009 in this past issue of Shonen Jump (thanks Ryne11!!). In addition to confirming Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 (big surprise, right?) the magazine reports it will have Wi-Fi multiplayer matches. This will be the first game in the Clash of Ninja series to have online play.

Players will be able to select over 30 characters and it sounds that number will be a mix of Shippuden stars and classic characters. The game will have an “overhauled combat system”, but retain the tag-team feature introduced in Clash of Ninja Revolution 2. Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 is slated to come out this fall along with Naruto: Ninja Destiny 2, a localized version of Naruto Shippuden: Shinobi Retsuden 2.

I wonder what characters will be playable? Will the only be those in the manga, or will we maybe have the original characters return

    • I wonder about the original characters. 30+ sounds like a lot, but I’m guessing that number includes doubles of Naruto, Sakura, and all the main Shippuden characters. Since Tomy already has models for the post time skip characters ready I hope they actually make new characters for this.

i hope they do make more ougis for each character…

they should just take out most of the pre time skip characters as 99% of them are the same as there time skip version or have one new move that changes nothing about there overall play style .

With the overhaul of the combat system, I hope that means also fixing the slowdowns that the others had after GNT4.
