Nintendo Developing Wii Fit Plus And “Art Academy”

By Spencer . May 26, 2009 . 8:43pm

image Prepare for an announcement about Wii Fit Plus at Nintendo’s E3 press conference next Tuesday. A trademark with an English logo for Wii Fit Plus in the Japanese trademark database.

In addition to Wii Fit Plus it looks like Nintendo may have some other surprises like Art Academy. An trademark for that title was also registered. Is Art Academy going to be Mario Paint for this generation or is it going to be a bite sized DSiWare game? BonsaiBarber is rather enigmatic too and at a first glance it sounds like something just for Japan. However, the trademark, even though it’s on Japan’s database, is in English.

Update: Like many commenters pointed out Bonsai Barber is already out on WiiWare in North America. The Nintendo trademark is likely a sign that Nintendo of Japan will publish and localize the game similar to what happened with World of Goo.

  • Mazen

There is a bad Wii ware game called Bonsai Barber released in the US.

  • Hero of Legend

Bonsai Barber is Zoonami’s WiWare game.

  • No surprises there. We’ve all known about Wii Fit Plus for a while. I must say, though, Nintendo’s doing an awfully good job at keeping us all in the dark about their E3 plans…

    • lostinblue

unless these are their E3 plans :p

      • Kaoro

If Wii Fit Plus is their big E3 reveal I will die a little inside.

        • Unfortunately if Wii Fit Plus is their big E3 reveal, would anyone really be surprised?

        • Mazen

Just a little? but no I’d bet 1000$ they have at least one new big not fitness related game .

          • I’m with Mazen on this. When Iwata says there’s good stuff coming, there’s good stuff coming. He isn’t the type to let his company repeat the same mistake over and over again.

      • Bite your tongue!
