Atlus Won’t Tell Us Their Full E3 Lineup

By Spencer . May 29, 2009 . 5:01pm

image Xseed just unloaded their secret titles. Atlus? They’re waiting until June 2nd to tell us their plan for 2009. In an e-mail with the subject “Atlus + E3 2009 = Win” they tease “other surprises?”

Games confirmed for the show include things you know about: Neo Steam, Demon’s Souls, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, Droplitz, and Trauma Team.

Guesses? I’m betting on Tactical Guild, a strategy RPG with light cosplay elements from Ninja Studio, Growlanser, and something from Falcom.

  • It has to be Growlanser. I'm sure they have something else up their sleeves, but a lot of us Atlus Faithful will be disappointed if GL's nowhere to be seen.

I'm also confident Brandish PSP will come up, maybe Ys Seven while we're at it.
  • Hero of Legend
Evolution 3 by Sting for Wii is a good guess as rumored a year ago.

Atlus now exclusively publishes their games, and all Sting's made since Knights for DS are a bunch of Mobile games, and I don't think they're staying with that forever, and I also don't think (I could be wrong) Atlus publishes their Mobile games, do they?

It's also very possible, as Sting's very Nintendo focused otherwise, porting both of their PS2 games to the Wii, and making a few DS games, and their PSP games are also ports aren't they? But I'm moving away from the subject here. :P

It's been a year now since that rumor popped up at Wiiz.fr, so if it's true, it's about time it got unveiled, plus like I said, Sting's overdue for a non-Mobile announcement.

Question is, would Atlus announce the game for localization, before it's even announced for its home country?
  • I don't know, but if they did/would I'd think it would involve one of the Trauma Center games.
  • Malek86
That, I would not like. Evolution was one of Sting's most underwhelming games, it was decidedly sub-average. From them, I expect peculiar stuff like Baroque and Riviera.

Didn't Atlus say they were looking into having Sting develop some of their main series? I wouldn't mind an SMT spinoff made by them.
  • James
I'm hoping for Super Robot Taisen Original Generations
  • Al
    You and me both.
  • And so am I. Based on that SRT interview Spencer did, I'm really expecting something from the series to be released ^^
  • Oh no :(. I think that end part was more like "Spencer, shame on you. You know we can't answer these questions." instead of a confirmation. I hope I didn't get your hopes up too much...

Anyways, fingers crossed for SRT: OGS its either this year or never.
  • Damn, just saw this reply now and to tell you the truth I rather not to see it :P
Well, now it's too late to make any comments, but from my point of view, I thought something like "Shame on you, Spencer, for being so sneaky!" :)
Anyway, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed

    Growlanser and SRT:OG please.
  • CleruTesh
    Don't forget Steambot Chronicles PSP!
I guess if Steambot Chronicles 2 is not even out in Japan, it won't be there. But let's just say it will.
  • Melvin2898
    Draglade 3 and Draglade Wii.Please
  • Dais
was Draglade 2 so bad you'd prefer that Atlus would skip over it and just request Dimps start developing a third game and Wii version completely out of the blue?
  • DieCyHDyK
Can you post whole 'Atlus + E3 2009 = Win' text?
  • Are they still coming out with PS2 games? If so, Arcana Heart 2 is my guess. If that's true I really hope they fix every nook and granny since I heard from the people that imported the Japanese version say it was practically unplayable and just not fun.
Oh, and IM@S. Always got to keep the dream alive.
  • Mazen
I know how tough Nintendo is but please Atlus we want Captain Rainbow!
  • lostinblue
    and Soma Bringer.
  • Ereek
My dream is Growlanser IV. I'll be extremely happy with the Growlanser PSP game, though.
  • LordGeo
I'd love to see Super Robot Taisen OGs and Absolute Blazing Infinity be two of the titles Atlus announces at E3.
  • Chris
I wish they'd make another hardcore dungeon crawler SMT game akin to Nocturne or DDS. DS2 and Persona are great, but they're just not the same.

If there really is a Falcom title, maybe somebody is finally giving us Oath of Felghana?
  • EvilAkito
I'm still trying to figure out if that Ninja Studio game is called Tactics Layer or Tactic Slayer. Damn you ambiguity!
  • Hahaha yeah I had the same issue. I liked Tactic Slayer at first so I went with that, but after discussing it with some other people Tactics Layer makes more sense you know with layers of clothes etc.
  • chrono
I already pre-order steambot chronicles for the psp. i love the ps2 tittle and i can't wait for it's little brother. on the other hand i'm hoping to see growlancer, brandish, y'seven and persona. since i never play the first one around.
  • Feanor
    Persona 5 for the Wii!
  • CleruTesh
I would definitely buy it on Wii, but I would really prefer to see it on PS3. In 1080p. Just leave out trophy support. I hate little distracting boogers popping up on my screen notifying me of some arbitrary accomplishment.
  • Strike_Man
All PS3 games now require trophy support.
  • That, or SMT 4 for any system really. It's a new gen after all.
  • lostinblue
Note for Atlus: A LOT of (new) RPG's for the Wii (instead of only getting low budget hospital simulators that will sell like mad only to see that money getting applied somwhere else). kthnxbye
  • Melvin2898
    Draglade 3 and Draglade Wii.Please
    Draglade 2 for U.S.
  • RUKASZ
    well... thats pretty suspicious.
  • Joe Fongul
How about the Sora no Kiseki series Atlus? With the PSP revitalization, I would love for this Falcom series to reach the west. Pleeease :)
  • Peasantman
It's going to be SRW Original Generations and OG Gaiden for the ps2, it's one of the largest suggestion threads Atlus has ever had.
