eagle Team ICO’s next game has a boy and a mystifying beast working together. This batch of media sent out by SCEJ for The Last Guardian gives us a closer look at the giant creature.

The Japanese title also provides another shred of information about the beast. The Last Guardian is known as Hitokui no Oowashi Trico (loosely Trico: The Giant Maneating Eagle). I just learned Oowashi refers to Haliaeetus Pelagicus, a sea eagle specific to Asia and considered to be the heaviest eagle in the world.

I suppose the creature is based off H. Pelagicus. Do you think Team ICO’s creation looks like the eagle at all?

Not only it still looks like a cat-bird to me, but that thumbnail scared me :(
If I were that kid I probably would have had a heart attack if I saw that coming towards me.
Everything else looks really cool, though!
