Catch Pokemon, Get A Cheeseburger

By Spencer . June 15, 2009 . 12:39am

image Nintendo and McDonalds are giving the phrase “Gotta catch ‘em all” a new meaning. Poke trainers that stop by a McDonalds in Japan between June 19 to July 17 get digital Pokemon stamps.

Stamps, which look like “toys” from Melee! Pokemon Scramble, are saved on a Nintendo DS sticker sheet. Collect eight stamps and you get a cheeseburger as a prize. Get sixteen for a big mac.

This promotion along with the Jirachi giveaway are two kickoffs for the DS at McDs Nintendo Zone service. DS owners eating at McDonalds can download demos of games like Rhythm Heaven, read short comics, and get nutritional information.

McDonalds loves all those kids hanging around playing portable consoles, or so it seems. Videogaming is less healthy than we might think!
  • I can't wait till they add Filet-o-Magikarp to the menu.

I'm surprised they haven't already! Though I guess the name usually ends up in the hands of Burger King over here.

And the beef is 100% Milktank? How much for Pidgey Nuggets? XD
  • See, this is why you don't start talking about the pokémon food chain. Now I'm all depressed by the thought of Miltank burgers and Kentucky Fried Torchic.
  • Poke trainers like Big Macs?
I was always a Big n' Tasty guy...

That picture scares me every time I see it.
Ronald McDonald is going to gobble you up Iwata! D:

Got to love the Big Mac plushie though! (I have one too. orz)
