The official word from Konami is the PSP game takes place after Metal Gear Solid 3 and explains the origins of Outer Heaven. Players explore Costa Rica as one of four characters that look like Snake. This seems like a hint that Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will have some kind of multiplayer mode.

Hmm… I wonder if the breakthrough success of Monster Hunter Freedom subtly influenced Metal Gear Solid? I better prepare myself for co-op cardboard box sneaking just in case. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is scheduled for release in 2010.

why are there 4 snakes??? are they actual clones, or just is this going to be online, and those are other players?

Maybe it is Big Boss, Snake(Liquid and Solid) plus the other brother you fight in MGS2? Just a guess and I am not very good at keeping my MGS story straight.
