Valkyria Chronicles came out over a year ago in Japan, but Sega is still adding to the game going with another piece of downloadable content starring Edy.

Before you read any further, this isn’t a new difficulty mode or a side story. Edy’s Squad Challenge comes with six challenges to complete. Each mission plays like a mini Valkyria Chronicles test.

You take out tanks in one challenge and sneak into an enemy base in another. Out of all the events I’m most interested in the sniper mode which has players test their aiming skills. Here’s a quick list of the soldier roles Edy’s Squad Challenge evaluates: assault, sniper, anti-tank unit, support, tank, and scout.

Edy’s Squad Challenge comes out in Japan on June 23 and it’s only 300 yen ($3). A North American release was not mentioned, but Sega brought over all of the Valkyria Chronicles DLC so far.

all I really want is trophy support, this would entice me to play it one more time
  • ^ This. Though I will still buy any and all VC DLC, Trophies would really make me play it all over again.

Blah, more Edie. I'm not a huge DLC supporter to begin with, so I'm not interested in more Edie events. The Selvaria content was interesting because it had relevance to the story, the Edie content just feels like fanfiction.
