Did UFO Interactive Snag Another Wii Shooter?

By Spencer . June 18, 2009 . 7:48am

image Saint is coming out soon. After that UFO Interactive may have another unannounced shooter for the Wii.

Milestone, developer of Dreamcast ported shooters Radio Allergy and Karous, released their latest shmup Illvelo on Wii in Japan last November. Gamefly says UFO Interactive is bringing it stateside under the name Arcade Shooter: Illvelo. Seems believable since UFO Interactive has ties with Milestone from Ultimate Shooting Collection.

Raiden IV, Saint, and Arcade Shooter: Illvelo? All UFO Interactive needs to do is pick up Cave’s works and Shooting Love 200X to dominate the domestic console shooter market.

That screenshot reminds me that I need to stop working and play more Knights in the Knightmare. :)

Thankfully the name is appropriate this time around unlike the ambiguously uncreative Ultimate Shooting Collection.

Still waiting for a Radio Allergy Noir console port, I’ll pick up Illevo in the meantime if it’s decent.

EXCELLENT. I suggested this to them some time ago. Looks like I wasn’t the only one to do so.

But I’m already anticipating the countless delays!

Hopefully the setup and options aren’t as janky as USC was. I dunno if it was Milestone or UFO who screwed up, but considering how much time they had to iron things out, it was really inexcusable.

Blame Milestone. My friend has the import version and it’s got the same problems, such as unintuitive TATE controls and the Chaos Field save bug.

That said, this doesn’t excuse UFO’s incompetence at requiring these issues to be fixed, especially given the mammoth delays as you’ve said.

Too bad they’re lousy marketers. And yet, due to them publishing shovelware, why should I trust them to bring the good games over here unharmed?
