See Two New SaGa 2 Remake Videos

image SaGa 2 Hihou Densetsu: Goddess of Destiny (Final Fantasy Legend II: Goddess of Destiny) is looking less and less like the Game Boy game. The story is still about a kid tracking down his/her/its estranged father who now looks like an anime version of Indiana Jones without a safari hat.

The scenario synchro system is newly designed for the Nintendo DS remake. This lets players view extra events tied by a thread of fate. Think of these like Final Fantasy IX’s active time events that can open additional story options.

Combat got an overhaul too. Characters can chain attacks for damage boosts and unlike Final Fantasy Legend II you can hit multiple enemies with a single sword swing.

SaGa 2 Hihou Densetsu: Goddess of Destiny is slated to come out this fall in Japan. A North American release has not been announced at this time.

  • I wonder if they'll release it at all in North America. On one hand, Square Enix does release a fair amount of games developed by their Japanese counterpart, but, on the other hand, they hate the SaGa series.

I don't see why not? We've actually gotten all the SaGa games here but the SFC trilogy and the WSC remakes...
  • I remember reading that SaGa 2 / FFL2 was one of the best RPGs on the Game Boy, and a very good RPG in its own right. I'm curious to see how this turns out.
