New Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo Trailer Shows A Ton Of Gameplay

By Spencer . July 1, 2009 . 12:01pm

This isn’t just *another* Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo movie. This trailer pretty much summarizes the game. Watch it to see some boss fights, the two player battle mode, scenes from five stages, and a little remote shaking action.

Japan gets the game first and its Sonic the Hedgehog style lightspeed air dashing on July 23. We’re scheduled to get Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo from Namco Bandai Games America later this year.

  • Looks great to me!

I am actually really excited about playing this one. Seems like one part platforming brawler and one part fighting game.

it's really nice to see the recent support for dragon ball. i have zero interest in dbz, but i really enjoyed reading dragon ball.

Wow, that really does look very Sonic-like.

It could be me....but that looks like the best anime-to-3D transition I've seen since....well, ever!

This surprisingly looks like a great game! Hopefully it plays as well as it looks - this might be a Dragon Ball game I'm willing to buy.

In my book, there were several best Dragonball games that were quite revolutionary. Hyper Dimension for 2-D fighting on the Super Famicom, Super Saiya Legend the first 16 bit RPG also on SFC (got rid of the grid map from the Famicom days), Budokai for on PS2/Gamecube since it was the first 3-D fighting game, and this 2.5D side scroller w/ amazingly good graphics.

God, I love this game the first minute I laid eyes on it, and this trailer just seals the deal (you had me at hello, lol).. The graphics, gameplay w/ optional classic controller, contents covering almost the whole DB series (I guess w/ the exception of the last Tenkaichi Budokai), the theme song sung by the guy who sang the original opening! They really went all out w/ this game, really does Dragon Ball justice. Too bad I don't see any pre-order bonus at the end of the trailer :(..
