I didn't mean no FF V remake ever. I meant no FF V remake in the near future.

Even if you are correct and Matrix would actually be working on both FF1 Gaiden and FF V remake, do you really think SE would release them both around the same time?
Anyway, after FF 1 Gaiden, there's always the possibility of FF V and FF VI remakes.

This does in no way mean “no FF V remake ”. Did Avalon Code mean no Winds of Nostalgio? Both were even released in the same month.

FF5 and this might share the same engine, both titles might be heavily backed by SE with manpower. The remakes III and IV sold several hundred thousand copies each (with FFIII even exceeding 1 million sold) in JP, which would give SE an good incentive to support Matrix.

I really thought it was going to be Seiken Densetsu or Romancing Saga. Interesting indeed. I like the style so far.

Two observations:

1. Matrix Software working on this means no FF V remake
2. This seems like a reboot of the first FF. Not a remake, but a reboot (just like this year's Star Trek movie was meant as a reboot to that franchise). I'm curious as to what direction it'll be heading…

Love the artstyle. It really does look like a (crude) 3D Seventh Dragon.
