Raku Raku Kinen Appli Wii (Easy Stop Smoking App Wii) is also slated for distribution over Nintendo’s servers next week. And, as the name describes, it’s a program that helps people quit smoking.

You start Raku Raku Kinen Appli Wii by picking a Mii. Then you choose smoking mode where you record data like how often you smoke or non smoking mode which has a seven day plan to help users kick the habit. The program is based on a book written by Mayumi Abe, a physician at Tokyo Women’s Medical University Hospital.

SilverStar, the same company behind SilverStar Chess, developed the WiiWare version and its “multiplayer” mode. Four people can record data in their own smoking journals. SilverStar suggests families can support each other by running the program together.

My only real problem with things like this is it trivializes to a certain extent something that is a very real problem. We know how unuseful Brain Age has been proven to really be. I would hate to think somebody would get the idea this is a true solution.

Hahaha, if this WiiWare app can really be a solution for smokers, all the world will be addicted to apps :o)
