Project Sora’s Fancy Studio Shows Love For All Consoles

With Nintendo’s help, Super Smash Brothers Brawl director Masahiro Sakurai opened Project Sora. The Tokyo based studio just refurnished their offices and gave the world a photo tour. (Thanks for the tip Justin!!)

They have a teleconference room for meetings with Nintendo of America and a busy AV space. Look at all of those consoles! There’s a Super Famicom, Mega Drive with the CD drive, Nintendo 64, a Wii, a PlayStation 3, and an Xbox 360 connected to the TV.

Project Sora is working on a Nintendo exclusive, but they aren’t pigeonholed with Nintendo games. Anyway, it’s probably a good idea for Project Sora and all studios to check out the competition.

You didn't mention the Twin Famicom on the floor!

Excited to see what Project Sora does. I kind wish HAL would give Sakurai Kirby Wii back.

he doesn't want it back. he left HAL because he was tired of doing sequels.

And then... he came back to do a sequel with Nintendo.

I wouldn't rule out Sakurai wanting to do one last Kirby game...

I don't, have you seen his signature? (it has kirby) he loves kirby, and smash bros for that account. but... he left there for a reason.

I can see him overseeing some kirby's, and some smash, but I think it would be a waste if he was doing them.

    White PS3 is sexy.

As for the news at hand... it's kinda normal isn't it? I remember naughty dog having x360's at hand and stuff.

not a matter of checking the competition out, but wanting to have access to all games? just like ueda recently said he played Mario Galaxy.

As for project sora not being part of Nintendo... I wonder about that, Nintendo paid their studio, Sakurai could get anyone else as sponsors, they must be partially owned, first or second party.

Which, again, doesn't prohibit them from experiencing other consoles, as well as theirs.

Such a cool setup, those heavy duty arcade sticks are awesome.. I guess I should get a white PS3 too if they ever come out w/ a slim.
