Ys Seven Trailer Demonstrates “Dramatic Action”

image After a couple of Ys Books I&II ports Japan is going to jump into Ys Seven and it’s a huge jump compared to the classics.

Ys Seven has giant monsters that chase you and maybe even a shmup scene. Denpa no Sekai who sent the trailer to us (thanks!!) noticed Adol flying at the 1:30 mark. There’s a radar-like mini map in the top right too.

The game comes out on September 17 in Japan, and for now only Japan. Even though Falcom has a wealth of PSP games no publisher has stepped to the plate to localize them after Namco Bandai dropped the Legend of Heroes series. Will Atlus grab this? Maybe Mastiff? they did Gurumin a few years ago.

  • Lacan

I’d rather it be Konami that brings it over, Atlus’ translation of Ys I & II on NDS was lame

Love the adventures of Adol Christin and I hope someone localize it

  • Impressive trailer. I can’t wait for this one.

  • I’ll wait and see. Don’t like being disappointed.

  • Sound Team JDK seems to be doing an interesting work music-wise from what I’ve heard until now. Let’s see how things work out!

  • I’m almost certain that this will see a US release, but from who I am not sure. Falcom games have been passed around between Konami, Atlus, and Mastiff so far. I’d lean more towards Atlus grabbing it at this point but who knows.
