image Naruto Shippuden: Narultimate Accel 3 is coming out for PSP and what’s even more amazing is the news wasn’t spoiled by a leak!

A message from the team explains this is a sequel to Naruto Shippuden: Narultimate Accel 2 which has not been released in North America yet.

Other than announcing the game, the official site doesn’t offer much information. I’m sure this isn’t the previously revealed Naruto Shippuden Legends: Akatsuki Rising though since CyberConnect2 is not developing that title.

Well, that was a given, since the anime and manga are still going on.

    But still, .hack//LINK, where?

  • nyoron

What, no Ultimate Ninja Storm 2? Damn it!

  • Advent

Great!! I have been waiting for this news. I’m actually GLAD that the series is going to PSP now. Importing PS2 Naruto games can get expensive, and the PSP has had no Naruto love really.

Can’t wait for this one! Hope they try and improve the mechanics of the system.

Weren’t there two Naruto games for the PSP? (both semi-ports of Narutimate Hero)

      • Yeah! You’re right about this. Two games came out for the US, but it looks like the Accel series is permanently moving to the PSP as long as it sticks around.

Why couldn’t it be for PS3?

Both Narutimate games for the PSP were previously based on the NH2 engine… which was one of the worst engines in the series. This game is probably just based on the NA2 engine… instead of being a new game.

    • Ah! I think Namco Bandai is porting NA2 to PSP and since CyberConnect2 has an engine they started work on this.

    • Yuan

Because PS3 has Storm, and it just released early this year in Japan (January). Maybe it’s just based on NA2 engine, but they add that 4 player battle which never got into Narutimate series.

  • hopefully it will be as good and fast as the ps2 ones were. good to see the series go portable

    Oh, yippie… >_>

While I’m not a big Naruto fan, I do love CC2’s Naruto games. Too bad there’s no PS2 port as I doubt I’ll play this on the PSP.

dude you do not know how happy that makes me 2 awesome naruto game coming soon, I dancing right, love naruto on psp

  • randomjeff

This makes sense considering the PS2 is slowly declining in sales and the PS3 just isn’t the place for a 2D fighter. Hopefully UNS2 gets announced and both games have an option to remove support characters since they completely break the gameplay and can be spammed relentlessly. I’m just curious how far this game will go into the current anime arc?
