Toss, Feed, And Capture: Three Of Layle’s Telekinetic Tricks

By Spencer . August 7, 2009 . 7:20am

Layle, the protagonist in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, has the uncanny ability to pick up and throw his enemies. This gameplay clip other ways he can use this skill.

When Layle seals an enemy in a telekinetic bubble it attacks for him, sort of like a captured gunpod in a shooter. Goblins shoot arrows and Cactuars blast needles.

Layle also has one other move. Watch what happens when he feeds a Malboro a lump of gold…

    pretty cool gameplay mechanic

Really excited about this one, it looks great. Glad they didn’t do another dungeon crawl, I like them but it’s getting worn out.

Didn’t care about it before, but after reading the Nintendo Power article, I’m pretty hyped about this game. The video also helped with that.

That’s not a Malboro though, that’s an Ochu.

    • That’s not what it says in Japanese in the top right hand corner… “モルボル”

  • lostinblue

Layle talks a little too much

It’s looking better everything I hear about it. :D

    What’s w/ the western music…

    • I like it xD
It gives the game a relaxed feel, its like the game is saying you should sit back, relax and enjoy. Somehow it fits. Mind you, I’m usually not a fan of this kind of music.

It’s not bad, but it just feels kind of weird to me, like I am seeing wagon chase in the wild west. I guess they’re trying to convey the spirit of exploration or adventure. I actually don’t mind western, I’m just surprised this game has so much of it, I knew they used it in the trailer last time.

        • Haha, yes it does seem a bit much.
