Who Are Square Enix’s “Sliding Heroes”?

Who Are Square Enixs Sliding Heroes?Nobody knows, except Square Enix.

 

The house of Actraiser recently trademarked Sliding Heroes in Europe and North America.

 

Why did I mention Actraiser instead of Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest? For me, Sliding Heroes sounds like a touch screen platformer for the Nintendo DS and Actraiser even though it was one half god sim, it was one of the few platformers in Square Enix’s history. Whatever this is it’s probably nothing like Slide Mag Kid, a Nintendo published DS game that had players slide their DS around with an infrared controller.

    Don't forget the other major touch-screen portable out there. Square Enix has definitely been trying to increase their visibility on the iPhone/iPod Touch platform, and with one tower defense game out of the way, a touch-controlled platformer with god-sim elements would be a nice move.

    What a great suggestion! Slimes slide and it would make a fitting subtitle. Dragon Quest Sliding Heroes — I like it!

    Good point! Square Enix could be making “Sliding Heroes” for the iPhone instead. Seeing Song Summoner pop up there was quite a surprise last year.

    But seriously, is this the same initial team that did Actraiser or just one member from that team and they announce that they're back? I'd really love to hear MORE Koshiro-san music.

    I don't think we know the “team” per se, but Quintet is R.I.P.

    The main people behind the Actraiser/Soul Blazer games are now at Ancient, Shade and RED iirc.
