Unreleased 32X X-men Game Unearthed

By Spencer . August 11, 2009 . 1:55pm

image Sega’s ill-fated 32X had a number of projects that never saw the light of day like X-men: Mind Games. A prototype of the unreleased game is now available thanks to the good folks at Sega Saturno.

The Lost Levels, the Internet’s home for graveyard games, has a magazine scan, which shows a level with Wolverine and claims “X-Men is going to be unreal”.

Here’s a very “real” look at what we missed playing in 1994.

WOW! If this game doesn't look like total crap I don't know what does. It looks stiff and unresponsive, kind of like Batman Forever on the Genesis.

I've waited some fifteen years to see what this would look like. It is rather advanced especially considering it comes from the time before 3D was the thing, and people still remembered that games could come in two dimensions.

Never heard of this! Interesting.. I'll be sure to show off to my friends with this knowledge... As an aside, that guy's keyboard clicking, for whatever reason, nearly drove me to madness.

I love reading/seeing stuff on unreleased games!!

It looks terrible nowadays, but back in 94, this would have blown my mind!! ^_^

    edited: misread post. :P
  • As stated above I was talking about the magazine scan when I said Wolverine. Please check that.

Well, at least it looks more fair than the first Genesis game!
  • Apart from the horrible framerate, it doesn't look too far off from the earlier 3D Saturn games.
  • Jesus lord, good riddance.

looks awful, if somewhat technically impressive. Wasn't Scavenger making it?
  • Haha, the whole 32X thing was just crazy to me. Sega CD 32X...
Well, Sega did cancel the sequel to Eternal Champions, so seeing this hit the can is, well, surprising(?).
