Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny Bundled With Hannah Montana PSP

By Spencer . August 13, 2009 . 12:26am

soulpsp Sony Computer Entertainment Korea made a PSP bundle pack specifically for Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny. Out of all the colors in the PSP rainbow they could have picked SCEK went with… lilac purple.

Yes, that’s the same PSP color Sony selected for the Hannah Montana PSP pack which came out here a few weeks ago. Maybe there was excess stock. Maybe lilac is Ivy’s color. Who knows?

Either way, it’s a pretty absurd choice. Siegfried Silver, Nightmare Black, even the God of War PSP would have been more fitting since Kratos is a guest character. This soon to be obscure collectable costs 285,000 won ($230).

Update: The Broken Destiny bundle goes beyond Korea. Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong sent over a press release announcing the same bundle plus a matching tote bag.

That is the most epic bundle…i’d by a third psp just for the awesomeness

  • Trotmeister

Ahahah, excess of Hannah Montana bundles repacked into Soul Calibur bundles…

As ridiculous this theory is, it’s probably true.

  • Jaxel

    WTF….

  • Advent_Andaryu

Now I know I haven’t played it yet but the Soul Calibur series has went downhill ever since 3 and up. 2 was the best…

A terrible psp bundle, for a terrible game.

    WHERE’S MY LINK???!

  • MadMirko

    난 보라색 색 사랑

Not every country is homophobic as US is. Cultural difference, folks. If you carry a purple PSP in Korea, people don’t think you are gay.

    • Hraesvelgr

I don’t recall anyone saying anything about being gay if you have a purple PSP…

  • Rodger

…I’d buy that bundle. And it does seem fitting with Ivy displayed so prominently on the box. Matches her armor…outfit…thing. I’m tempted to get a lilac PSP anyway. Real gamers play lilac PSP’s.

  • Twyst

So, does this mean then, that not all the Lilac PSPs have Hannah’s face on them? I am thinking they must not, but that would be sadness!

This colour is growing on me, against my will. Like mold.

  • Pichi

Don’t see a problem with it. If I liked the game and it came out here, I would buy it. Fitting for Ivy fans also.

  • QBasic

I have to give them mad props for….marketing creativity. :)

  • koama

Hmmmm… my lady is heading back to Korea shortly. Maybe I can convince her of the merit of owning one of these beauties. The trip can be a long one…

  • Ereek

I love the lilac PSP. Black is too boring. I’d get it if my own didn’t work, though.

    • eliel

i agree i’d buy this too!!!

  • Jake

I’m a soul calibur fan and seriously considering buying a psp for BD. But I guess I’m not secure enough in my manliness to play with a dark pink psp.

  • kylehyde

Well now the potential owners of the psp in Korea have the chance for obtain the “best of both worlds”. LOL
