Mushihime sama Futari Ver.1.5 Locks On To NovemberCave will release two versions of Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 on November 26. A standalone copy of the game and a limited edition bundled with a two disc soundtrack.

The Xbox 360 game will retail for 7,140 yen ($75) while the limited edition package and the Mushihime-sama Double Arrange Soundtrack CD goes for 9,660 yen ($102).

Both first press runs also come with a DLC code for Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.01. Cave didn’t say if they will sell the update on Xbox Live later on, but they probably will as seen from their Deathsmiles Mega Black Label plan. Speaking of Deathsmiles, Cave upgraded Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5‘s visuals too. Here’s a comparison of one of the game’s monsters.

Awesome. Too bad it most likely will be region coded…arrgh.

maybe you could add 360 to the title? i'm totally psyched for all these shooters, but i'm not happy about the region locking. my JP 360 red ringed, and i haven't tried sending out to japan for repairs yet. it doesn't really seem worth it to repair it, but then there are all these NTSC-J shooters. i keep my fingers crossed that they come over here. i pre-ordered raiden fighters jet to make my contribution to the cause.

Why is this on the 360? That controller sucks ass for accuracy! Its the same reason for why I wonder what the purpose of releasing 360 exclusive fighting games; no one wants to use that controller!

  • Tofuuu

so when will these types of games migrate to the PS3? seriously man T-T i need my shmups!!!!

I'm pretty sure I heard Cave/Sony not getting along as well as the same for Cave not liking NA as it is.

Bad for me…I gots no J360.

  • ZefiroTorna

Regardless of how suitable the console's default controller is for those sorts of games, a significant amount of people who are Cave's target audience will use arcade sticks anyways.

You shouldn't need to do anything special to get your 360 repaired. Call them and explain that you bought it while in Japan (or whatever) and want to be absolutely sure you get back a JAPANESE 360 so you can still play your games.

They SHOULD make a special note of your situation and accept it for repairs. Especially since it's a red ring issue (less likely that it's out of warranty)
Just to be sure, put a note in the coffin they send emphasizing “JP 360, plz don't send a NTSC-U/PAL 360 back thx”

If the rep tells you they can't do it, hang up and try to get a different person.

There are stories all over the internet about people getting their JP 360s repaired from the US (example, and while it might be harder for Europeans, this guy managed it.

    good luck.

Arcade games are usually played in the arcade on sticks so at home I imagine die-hards all do the same? (I know you know this.) Though anything exclusive nowadays is surprising, yet I always have a satisfaction in it for any system.

No, but really, just state that you want it on the PS3 for free region coding, because I know *I* don't like shmups on a Sony or Microsoft controller even if Sony is much more of the lesser evil.

  • Mr_Qoo

Tragic Irony? Poetic Justice? Cave shows no love to NA, yet locks all of their amazing shooters to a NA company exclusively.

  • Jaxel

Yeah you're right… region free is a reason alone to have it on PS3; but that doesn't concern the average Japanese gamer. When it comes down to it, these shmups just wont be coming out in America. I'm still upset at Microsoft for turning down the release of DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label Plus in America.

  • thaKingRocka

i've tried on three separate occasions. they require the serial number before they'll send out an RMA. the serial number shows up as a japanese console. i told them that it shouldn't matter; it's the same hardware. i even offered to PAY for the repairs. they said that they wouldn't touch it and tried to give all sorts of reasons that, ironically enough, demonstrated their ignorance of the inner workings of the hardware.

my friend had his NTSC-J red ring, and he sent it to the US repair center. they returned it in perfect working order after about a week, and they never requested his serial number. those were the halcyon days of 2007. things done changed since then.

Kind of want that baby Reco figure that came w/ the PS2 LE. Glad they're upgrading the graphics.

  • Aoshi00

Sry to hear your Jpn 360 RROD on you. I haven't used mine for several months, waiting for Mamonoro to come. It sucks Microsoft refuses to service a console from another region, we even do them a favor by buying more than one system.. I'm just installing everything I play just to be safe.

I just don't understand why 95% of US games are region free and almost 100% of Jpn games are region locked. Do they think it's fun by dangling a carrot in front of us?

Majority of CAVE's recent titles are either released, or will be released for the 360. Sorry, but these games won't get a release on any other current gen console. You better to start looking at importing a Japanese 360. Good luck.
