Heavenly Sword Developer Working With Namco Bandai

image Namco Bandai is teaming up with Ninja Theory, the developers of Heavenly Sword, to make a brand new title for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Producers from Namco Bandai Games America will assist in developing the game which is attended for “a global gaming audience.”

 

Nina Kristensen, Co-founder of Ninja Theory, offered the following quote about the partnership, “this new project pushes our core strengths of rich story-telling, cutting-edge technology and exciting gameplay beyond anything we have created before. The support of Namco Bandai combined with the skills and talent we have nurtured over the years means that players are going to be in for a truly deep and memorable experience.”

 

Specific details about the title have not been announced. The enigmatic game is slated for 2010.

    I personally loved the hell out of Heavenly Sword, so I’m eager to see what they’re gonna bust out in this joint venture.

      Agreed. Heavenly Sword was one of those “greater than the sum of its parts” titles, but the media tended to look at the parts instead of the sum, thus… well, a little bit of criticism. We’ll probably never see a proper sequel, but I’m convinced Ninja Theory will be able to create another excellent overall package.

        Loved the game too, very nice gameplay and jaw dropping presentation (mo-cap) Most people complained about its length, but I thought it was just right, and the separate acts can be replayed.

        Very much looking forward to their new project.

    Hmm. Something to rival GOW3. Here’s hoping that whatever they do has a online multiplayer coliseum mode. just throwing out crazy stuff.
