Wow. I'd be nice, but I wonder exactly how much of the original team still resides at Capcom? I know the big names are mostly gone, but didn't Capcom reabsorb some of the Clover staff who stayed on?

I also sort of wonder if it might not be a smaller scale, DS game? Something along the lines of the DS Zeldas would work pretty well for Okami, and might be a more attractive initial proposition versus a full scale Wii or HD sequel.

Densetsu is legend. Actually “den”, the suffix on Okami can represent legend or tradition too.

I know that Gaiden means 'side story' in Japanese, and I can definitely see how that could relate to a possible name of an Okami spin-off, prequel or sequel as after all, didn't Hideki Kamiya, despite not working for Capcom or having the rights to the character anymore, say he still felt Issun's story wasn't finished? It could be a game continuing the story of Issun but not necessarily Okami Ameterasu.

However, what does Densetsu mean? A preliminary google says it could mean 'Legend' but I am not 100% sure.

Either way...Okamiden sounds a lot better than a plain, uninspired 'Okami 2'!!!

Honestly, i can't see why Capcom should be interested in a sequel of game plagued by disappointing sales… it must be something else, forget it.

I really hope it's a sequel, I really loved Okami. But too bad Clover is gone, and Platinum games is mostly (?) working with Sega…

I hope if they do make a sequel, it won't be a crappy job…

If it is a sequel, I wonder what part of Japanese lore it will be taking up this time around. It filled in quite a bit before.
Okami is a wonderful game, I played it a couple times over already. Seeing this makes me want to play it again D:

Yea, Okami is my favourite game ever, so when I saw this posts in our Drafts, I nearly had a seizure. I hope it's coming (it ranked high on that Famitsu “most wanted sequels” list a few months ago), and I hope the team that's working on it treat it with the same respect that Clover did.
