Anyone supporting this horrible bastardisation of a game is the cancer killing games.

After sega completely ruined the shining force series I waited years for a great SRPG to come along, they finally do it and then screw me over again! god dammit sega you suck

I've always wanted yo play an anime-like game with military forces similar to the military from FMA,This seems rather fit for that and since I couldn't play the first one this one seems like a day-one buy for me.

Yeah, cliche'd characters. So? It's not like original game's cast and story were all that interesting.

I agree, the first game was pretty good, but, while I didn't really mind the story or characters, they were definitely full of numerous anime cliches.

I have mixed feelings. This looks to be one of those SRPGs I would play purely for the battle system, something SEGA hopefully is deciding to balance out a bit. No more Super Solo Scouts, please! The new character designs are so. . .dull. The "Valkyria," I use quotations because who knows what is up with her and her bending spear and bunny ears, takes everything that Selvaria was in the first game and stomps all over it. To make matters worse, I can probably tell you exactly which archetype each one of those characters falls under just by looking at their design.

However, no matter how much I feel this game does not look to be as good storywise as the first, I'll still play it. The original Valkyria was disgustingly cliched and the story falls apart around Chapter 13, but you don't play it for that. The gameplay was very good, and if SEGA is tweaking and adding more classes, I can see it being very fun. I just don't expect it to hold its own, story-wise.

You should have gone with the SoA sequel/prequel, SEGA!
