Nintendo Publishing A Sonic Game

Remember when Mario and Sonic were mortal enemies? A time when Nintendo and Sega were bitter rivals? Those days are long over since Nintendo is publishing a Sonic game.

Cooperating to make the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is one thing, both companies have an invested interest in the series. Now, Nintendo is taking their relationship with Sega a step further by localizing and publishing Sonic Rush Adventure in Korea.

Nintendo of Korea is handling Sonic Rush Adventure similar to how Nintendo handles the Professor Layton games outside of Japan. They’re going to market the game as if it was a Nintendo title, which is unusual considering Sega of Korea exists.

If you want to purchase Nintendo’s version of Sonic Rush Adventure you can import it from Korea on September 17.

  • Seeing Mario and Sonic in the same game still blows my mind. Game magazines back then were almost as bad as the political ones of today as far as bad-mouthing the rival.

Sonic gets tossed around a lot these days, but hopefully it’ll someday land on a team that will focus on moving him from left to right again.

yeah totally. the conversation some people have on blog sites these days we used to have in our living rooms. but it was about Sonic and Mario not playstation and xbox.

“but Super Nintendo has no games” even after Nintendo built up a library of games was often said much like the “ps3 has no games” argument used to happen.

  • Where did you find that image of the box? The image looks poorly scaled, I’d like a full-quality image, I just don’t know where to look. There seems to be no Amazon Korea where you usually find high-res boxes. :(
