This Week In Imports: Soulcalibur vs. Dream Club

By Spencer . August 24, 2009 . 12:20am

image After a few slow weeks Japan is back on track with a slew of portable releases and a few console games.

Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny seems like this week’s big game, but Dream Club might be able to climb the sales charts by appealing to the Idom@ster crowd that already owns Xbox 360s. Either way Namco Bandai wins since D3 Publisher, the company publishing Dream Club, is now a Namco Bandai subsidiary.

Speaking of Namco Bandai what’s up with Go Go Cosmo Cops aka AcroKnights? The game will debut in PAL territories and it currently doesn’t have a US release or even a Japanese release date.

Lots of games are coming out in North America this week like Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy, the next installment of Professor Layton and of course Dissidia: Final Fantasy.

  • Cursed Mountain (Wii) is released this week for U.S. and Europe. It looks very interesting. Reel Fishing: Angler's Dream (Wii), too (been waiting for this forever!).
Yep, some very exciting games coming out this week. I already pre-ordered Nanashi no Game. Next week is Love Plus for me!

Way too many games coming out domestically for the next few months. I know I'm going to get so far behind. Just this week there are three or four I want.

Need to finish Shadow Complex (best downloadable game ever) and very excited about Batman AA. Being a non-fan of Idolmaster, still debating if I should get Dream Club for the school uniform DLC... I prefer the songs in the game much more compared to Idolmaster.
  • Besides the song in the promo, I only heard Glory Days, which I like a lot.
If they ever make a CD I hope they include the "tipsy" versions as well.

I forgot the songs' titles, but I d/l'ed all of the characters' themes that rolled out on Live and like most of them, a couple of them really stood out. Idolmaster's just seem too childish for my taste. You mean the alternate version sung by the hostess when she's drunk right? I love that, it's more sexy and seductive, maybe the tipsy version could be on a separate soundtrack, lol

Now I'm trying to decide which to get, between Dream Club and Love Plus. I just got out of a bad relationship, so I might go the decadent route, lol.. But then there's still Shadow Complex and Batman I just picked up today.
