No Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 5 For North America Sorry, if you were looking forward to a localized version of Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Accel 2. Namco Bandai is translating CyberConnect2′s final PlayStation 2 fighter, but only for Europe.

 

Unfortunately, Namco Bandai Games America will not publish Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 5 on the PlayStation 2 here.

 

The fifth title in the Ultimate Ninja series features characters up to the rescue Sasuke arc and the much maligned partner system. All of the text will be in English (and four other PAL region languages), but unlike the rest of the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja games the voice acting will be Japanese only.

 

Namco Bandai Games America will release Naruto Shippuden: Akatsuki Rising on the PSP this fall and hint that there are more Naruto games to talk about in the future.

 

Update: Since we’ve been bombared with e-mails about this. Here’s the quote straight from a Namco Bandai Games America representative that told Siliconera, “Unfortunately Ultimate Ninja 5 will not be making it to North America. That’s a European release only. But don’t worry, there will be plenty to talk about soon for Naruto.” Sorry, to disappoint all of the Naruto fans, but there are more Naruto games coming from Namco Bandai in the future.

    i was really looking forward to this game, waiting for it for the longest time. now my hopes are crushed. this game would have been a nice way to end the naruto series on the ps2~

    I second this. Also, retailers are stocking less PS2 games here. Do places other Gamestop even have a specific PS2 section now?

    huh? thats really strange. i asked by friends in europe and checked most UK gaming website and they didnt say its going to be a Europe exclusive. Are you sure that this is for real? in most cases the games are exclusive North America and not released in europe.

    Target sure doesn't at least where I am. Anyway, retailers aren't buying as many PS2 games, which is probably a key factor to why this isn't coming over.

    This is from an official Namco Bandai spokesperson. I don't know how you can get more official than that.

    There are four other Ultimate Ninja games for the PS2 (not to mention a thousand other games) so I'd be surprised you would buy a PS2 *just* for this.

    The game was never announced in North America, which is why we asked Namco Bandai Games America about a possible release. They told us its not coming over.

    Also, I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but there are more only localized for Europe games than you imagine. Such as:

    Michigan: Report to Hell
    Disaster: Day of Crisis
    Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland
    One Piece: Unlimited Cruise 1
    One Piece: Unlimited Cruise 2
    The Onechanbara aka Zombie Zone (actually both of them for the PS2)
    Sword of Destiny
    The Sword of Etheria (aka Oz) from Konami
    Tales of Eternia (PSP)
    Breath of Fire III (PSP)
    Naruto: Ninja Council “3″ (the third game in the DS series)
    Naruto: Ninja Destiny “2″ (specially made for Europe)

    But this one had TS-Sasuke,Yamato,Sai,and full form Sasori!! Nooooooooo!! I was really looking forward to playing as Sasuke.I love the ultimate ninja series and unless an american PS2 can play a europe version of this game than I'm screwed!!! Dammit Namco Bandai!! Hello~! People still want to play this game even if the voices are in japanese as long as the text is in english no one cares!!

    Namco Bandai Games is smoking some really bad pot if they think this is a good idea. Many people want to play this game and they are just completely screwing North America over. If they are intelligent people they will give North America the game and not some lame-ass “Sorry to disappoint all of the Naruto fans” crap. Seriously Namco Bandai grow a brain already.
