Monster Finder Is The First Retail DSi Exclusive Game

By Spencer . September 1, 2009 . 7:02am

image DSi exclusive games are right around the corner. They’re coming to Japan this winter when Alphaunit releases Monster Finder. The game uses the DSi’s camera to “capture” monsters, which players use to fight.

Out of all the publishers out there it’s strange to see Alphaunit leading the charge for DSi only games. They are a small studio that made a WiiWare darts game and a quirky music game called Rhythm de Run Run.

Not surprised, it was really just a matter of time. Same exact thing happened with GBC.

Am I the only one that’s dead set against this? And am I the only one who feels this will totally fail?

    • jarrodand

Plenty of people feel the same. They’re wrong of course, but hey, can’t argue with feelings.

    • Depends on the game and if the people who want it have a DSi at all.

I’m fine with it, and since I don’t want another DS I will just have to move on and play the games I can.

Took them long enough. Personally I’m looking forward to the moment exclusive games arrive that bring more than just camera use to the table. Give me strategy games with more options and smarter enemies. :)

Let’s hope they also make use of the extra horsepower the DSi provides besides just the camera.

No kidding. I purchased it primarily because of the 2x cpu speed/4x ram that I read about. Don’t really care about the camera.

Well, it’s also not perfectly accurate to state that there aren’t already DSi exclusive games. Anything downloaded from the DSi store is an exclusive already.

In fact, the six currently released US “Art Style Series” games are my main reason for owning a DSi – they’re also only $5 each. Boxlife, aka Hacolife in Japan, is especially awesome.

Whatever I dont have a DSi and I doubt this will make me want one, besides the fact that the PSP is getting a game that sounds exactly like this (Invizimals) I just dont see this being a compelling reason to buy a DS yet again.
