Sakura Note Team Talks Localization

By Spencer . September 3, 2009 . 12:10pm

image While charming, Sakura Note is neck deep in Japanese culture and customs. Audio Games, the developer, notes this on their company blog. But, hey that doesn’t mean Sakura Note will be stuck in Japan. (Thanks for the tip Nominal!!)

Audio Games also says if there is potential for business they will localize it. They even (sort of) translated the text into English, a bold and uncommon way to appeal to early fans.

Now for the potential business part… Marvelous is aggressive when it comes to releasing their games, even niche ones, outside of Japan. I’d count on Sakura Note coming over. The question is really who is going to do the localization work.

This game looks great. I’m happy I have a DS and PSP, though I wish projects like this would come to consoles…..I can dream.

Wait, translated the text into english? As in they have a language select?

Cool that there’s plans of release, it looks really fun.

    EDIT:
oh and the front page of this site is annoying with that ad showing up preventing me from clicking the articles. :(

Sorry, I meant they translated the blog post in English, which is pretty rare.

The ads should be fixed now too!

Thank you! And yeah I see what you mean now about the translation.

  • MadMirko

Wow, that needs to be supported. If it turns out ok, I’ll double dip.

Perhaps after this Sega could find its way to fund Audio to create another Shining Soul.

Sega, do the smart thing and listen to this man!

well I’ll remain optimist then, since the developers are hinting at possible localization and marvelous is doing really well with localizing their titles. :D

I always love those traditional Jpn monsters/spirits like in Goemon, Kiki KaiKai or Mamoru-kun. Hope this game strikes gold w/ Uematsu’s soundtrack.
