The problem is, all those adult games could be done on the PC where you don't need a proprietary SDK, where you don't need a development license, where you don't need to go through the manufacturer to have your game approved.

Let's assume the guys behind SexBox have already considered all this and the system is as open-source or even as easy to develop for as could be. What then, prevents it from being a full-fledged console? :/

It's not that I don't think something of this sort isn't worth a solid attempt. I'm just wondering why they chose this absurd halfway point. Think about it: people say there's no room for a fourth console. Allowing adult games on there creates a niche for this, just as Nintendo created their current audience. So why not allow all kinds of games?

When you put it that way, I can see this idea being too ambitious and niche to put so much energy into it. Then again, this system in itself is going where the other gaming consoles (well, Atari first had those hilariously bizarre adult games) have not gone before; the AO territory.
Maybe I'm being WAY too optimistic about this, and even if it does reach the market it could be very well be a dud in hardware and software, but a game console opening the floodgates into taboo territory – it won't be the final frontier but if there's a chance that this would get serious support with a respectable budget, I can see venues opening, maybe even affecting gaming culture.
At the very least, you won't have to ever worry about annoying snot-nosed kids yelling profanity through your headphones.

Well, it might be unannounced hardware in development. The Sexbox, as of now, exists as a trademark just like Okamiden, which was also discovered by us as a trademark. Unlike Okamiden and many other trademarks we've discovered what this and what it does is quite self explanatory.

And that's not playing Indigo Prophecy….
