This Week In Imports: Gotta Catch Them All

Not many games are scheduled to come out in Japan this week, but one, technically two titles, will storm the sales charts.

 

Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver are set to come out against Arabians Lost, a visual novel with light RPG elements, and Civilization Revolution.

 

Things are booming in the West with Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days, The Beatles: Rock Band, and Raiden IV set to come out this week.

    So Raiden IV is on time huh, I looked at the Oct date on Amazon and thought I would have a breather before another shmup (just went back to Wartech Senko no Ronde). I just picked up Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (the “box” w/ the code, no manual..) from Gamestop today, I'm still thinking if I should get it from GS for the bonus artwork disc and if this would get very rare later.

    Raiden IV may have been delayed. I'm going from the last official PR from UFO, I have. I'll bug them on Monday!

    Actually, GS doesn't have the bonus art disc either. The retail version of MvC2 is just a code and a box. At one time it was supposed to have a disc, but that got canned.

    Cool! Really? So there won't be an Gamestop exclusive? If so, I would just order the LE w/ the soundtrack from Amazon then.

    Ack! Sorry, you mean for Raiden IV! I thought you were talking about MvC2.

    For Raiden IV, the art “disc” is a Gamestop exclusive. You get the soundtrack+Raiden IV+ art “disc” from Gamestop. I put “disc” in quotes because it's not a physical disc. It's a file.

    Looks like there might be a bit of confusion, you are asking about the Raiden IV SE right? Gamestop is still doing the art disk version as of the last time I checked this week — looks like Spencer thought you were looking for a disk version of MvC.

    I don't think Raiden IV is coming out this week. Amazon has it listed for October 27. Damn shame about the delay, was really looking forward to it this month…

    Sry for the confusion guys. So GS still has an exclusive “artwork DLC code” for Raiden IV as planned then? EBgames.com doesn't seem to list that under details. I usually don't care much about soundtrack but I don't want to miss out on the artwork. I just wasn't sure whether GS's Sept 4 or Amazon's Oct 27 release date is correct.

    Yeah, I knew about MvC 2 not getting an actual disc, kind of weird to open a box to just find a piece of paper in it (and another for 1-month free Marvel digital comic), I just entered the code and unlocked the demo I d/led before. But I'm content w/ an extra box and cover art, also I don't know why I wasn't charged sales tax in the store, whereas I would be if I bought straight from PSN.

    Just to fill you guys in if you haven't heard yet, I've already gotten confirmation of Raiden IV being in stores tomorrow from a shipment and from Gamestop themselves. So they should still be on for a Wednesday release if no one has confirmed. Can't say for Amazon.

    EDIT: Just went there before store closed and reserved my copy, guy said it'll be here tmw. Wonder why Amazon has the delay till Oct.. I hope the artwork data really would be included w/ the GS copy.
