Half-Minute Hero Timed For October

By Spencer . September 10, 2009 . 11:33am

image Xseed announced more formal plans for Half-Minute Hero (aka Yuusha 30 in Japan). The PSP game will be in stores this October. Marvelous’ creative game puts you in the unique position of saving the world in thirty seconds.

Hero mode is like a micro RPG where you randomly fight enemies by dashing into them, level up, and offer money to the Goddess of Time to rewind time. Princess mode is a shooter where you blast through mammoths and slide on the Goddess of Time’s lane to restore time. There are four modes and you’ll be able to try one of them today when a demo arrives on the PlayStation Store. Xseed plans to release another demo, but haven’t announced a release date for it.

Try the demo if you’re even a tiny bit curious. Out of all the quirky games I’ve played this year, Half-Minute Hero is one of my favorites.

For those who have not played this its actually pretty good. You gain levels every second or so and the trick is to get just strong enough that you still have time to travel to the boss and defeat it. There were a bunch of different demos put up for this in Japan you can download them to your PC then transfer them to your PSP. There is Japanese text but the game is simple enough that you dont have to read to understand it. Here is a site you can get the demos off: http://www.pspdemocenter.org/list.php?c=pcdown

Is this a US or Japan release? I see you used both titles…

    • Ereek

It has already been released in Japan. It’s coming out in the US in October.

      I, for one, can’t wait.

I, for two, can’t wait either. AS LONG AS THEY KEEP THE ORIGINAL OPENING TRACK. SUPER FUCKING METAL FROM HELL.

The demo up today is the first of two demos, so I can’t wait for the next!
