Jalecos RPG With Fan Input Is In Development For DS Jalecos RPG With Fan Input Is In Development For DS

Earlier this year, Jaleco asked users to help design an upcoming RPG. The project was tentatively called The: RPG and they weren’t even sure the game would come out. In July, the game got a name, WiZman’s World, and an ASCII cat from popular message board 2ch. But, no system.

Finally, Jaleco announced they are making WiZman’s World for the Nintendo DS. (Thanks for the tip Nocturnal!!) Yeah, for more portable RPGs? So far, WiZman’s World’s most original feature is its anima fusion system where you create homunculi that look like fairies.

After accepting the 2ch cat as a monster Jaleco hasn’t asked the public for any more help. Probably, a wise decision, but I would rather see an eccentric game made by a million insane internet “chefs” than a bland one.

So, where is that damn cat? You'd figure they'd use it as promo shots.

And speaking of Jaleco, have there not been any follow-ups on a potential NA version of Ougon no Kizuna?

NO peanut gallery, you doth not need remind me of Famitsu's score. But Jaleco themselves confirmed a while ago in a gamasutra interview that an English version was in the works.

I too, second the notion of creating a DS RPG comprised of nothing but internet input. Who knows what sort of monster would spawn from it, but I'm fairly certain it'd be a……..colorful experience!

So far, the only “What the frak did I just see!!!” moment I had was when I saw Crank 2. In a good way! Thus, I need moar!

I recall XSEED saying at one time that they were keeping an eye on it. Maybe they figured it was too sucky to localize?
