Sega Deploying Valkyria Chronicles 2 In Summer 2010

By Spencer . September 16, 2009 . 10:39am

The wait for Valkyria Chronicles 2 won’t be that long. Sega confirmed a summer 2010 release for Europe and North America. Valkyria Chronicles 2 has a tentative winter release in Japan.

That gives Sega two seasons to localize hundreds of different missions, according to the press release, spread across 20 new environments. Valkyria Chronicles 2 puts you in control of a group of Gallian Military Academy cadets engaged in a civil war two years after the events of Valkyria Chronicles.

  • Hmm, already rated by PEGI? Methinks localization has probably begun, then, if it’s anything like ESRB submissions.

    I’m still bitter…

They ripped the unique “sketchy” drawing style that made the first Valkyria game so special to me and turned the game into a generic anime

  • RyuRyuRan

Not buying it. I want it, but I’m not buying it as long as it’s the sequel of a game I’m never going to own. I’m nitpicky like that… I don’t just play games I collect them, and owning a game with a “2” in it’s title when I don’t own the first game means I won’t ever get this sequel.

Did it even really HAVE to have be considered a sequel? They couldn’t have just called it Valkyria Chronicles: [Something something]?

    This sucks…

    • Ereek

That’s not picky, that’s bordering on the lines of obsessive compulsive.

Really, if you think you enjoy something, you shouldn’t let a “collection” stop you. After all, a collection is only “fun”when you do something with them. Leaving any collection to sit there and rot is simply an insult to things you enjoy. It goes the other way, too. It’s strange because in a way you’re hypocritical. In many pure “collections” people will pay high prices for pieces they love or have desired for some time. People play games because they enjoy them. If you really want to love or enjoy a game, but aren’t willing to because of your “collection,” then spend the extra $30 -that’s how much it is here, at least- on the first VC.

I understand the idea of collecting games, I do it to an extent with series I enjoy, and I’m not trying to insult you. Please don’t take it as such.

      • RyuRyuRan

No I didn’t take it as an insult. I’m glad you said the things you did, because I can’t stand that I do this all the time. It’s just hard to change, you know?

        • cowcow

thats cool that he got through to you like that. Rare on the internet…

      • Wise words. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Thanks for posting a thoughtful and articulate comment.

    • Trotmeister

Dude, you gotta get off crack, it’s obviously screwing you up in a bad way.
